Why Lazale is our test winner

How Lazale became our No. 1

We were sceptical. Especially around pregnancy, there are plenty of promises – but there’s no proof that any cream reliably prevents stretch marks.

So our team used Lazale in the salon themselves. What convinced us was the formula: six caring actives in one cream – for fresh, reddish marks, when care makes the biggest difference.

Today, Lazale is our test winner for the time after giving birth. Don’t just take our word for it – look at the brand’s original photos above.

Sound familiar?

  • Your bump is growing, and the skin feels tight and itchy.
  • After the birth, reddish marks have stayed on your tummy, breasts or hips.
  • Older marks have turned pale – and still bother you.

Reddish marks are fresh – that’s when care pays off most. Over time they get paler and less noticeable. What you apply during pregnancy is best discussed with your midwife or doctor.

Three things convinced us:

  1. More than a body oil. Most pregnancy oils care mainly with plant oils. Lazale is a cream with guarana extract second on the ingredient list, plus soy and moroheiya extract, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and urea.
  2. Fits into life with a baby.A 150 ml pump bottle – dosed with one hand, enough for tummy, hips, bottom and thighs. Massage in morning and evening, done.
  3. Hormone-free, skin tolerance “excellent”.That’s Dermatest®’s rating for the cream. Our team has used Lazale in the salon. If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, please talk to your midwife or doctor first – the cream contains menthol, glycolic acid and fragrance, among other things.Dermatest seal: Original, excellent, 10/2023

“I recommend Lazale cream to my clients for stretch marks. We use it ourselves and we’re convinced it works.”

Good to know

Can you prevent pregnancy stretch marks?

Honestly: there’s no proof that a cream or oil reliably prevents them. A Cochrane review of six studies with 800 women found no clear evidence. Whether you get stretch marks depends largely on your genes and connective tissue. Regular moisturising does keep the skin supple, though, and can ease that tight feeling.

Can I use Lazale during pregnancy?

The brand considers the cream suitable, but itself recommends checking with a doctor first. We advise the same: Lazale contains menthol, capsicum extract, glycolic acid, essential oils and fragrance, among other things. Talk to your midwife or doctor first. The same applies while breastfeeding – and leave out the nipple area.

Which ingredients should I avoid in pregnancy?

Above all retinoids such as tretinoin: according to Embryotox, they shouldn’t be applied to the skin during pregnancy. If you react to fragrance, choose a fragrance-free product. The easiest way: take the ingredient list to your next midwife or doctor’s appointment.

Do pregnancy stretch marks go away?

They don’t disappear completely, but they do fade: over time, reddish marks turn into pale, fine lines. Care can visibly soften fresh marks. If you want more afterwards, ask a dermatologist about laser or microneedling once pregnancy and breastfeeding are over.

When should I start moisturising?

Most brands recommend moisturising tummy, breasts, hips, bottom and thighs twice a day from the start of pregnancy. Start Lazale after checking with your midwife or doctor – during pregnancy and while breastfeeding alike.

Our verdict

“After giving birth, care pays off most while the marks are still reddish – that’s why Lazale is our test winner. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, have a quick word with your midwife or doctor first.”
