Why Lazru is our test winner

How Lazru became our No. 1

We were sceptical. Many well-known brow serums work with prostaglandin analogues – substances from glaucoma eye drops, applied close to the eye. That’s exactly what we wanted to avoid.

So our team used and tested Lazru in the salon themselves – on brows and lashes.

The result was astonishing. Today, Lazru is our first choice. Don’t just take our word for it – look at the real photos above.

Sound familiar?

  • Your brows are over-plucked and grow back patchy.
  • The tails get thin and the shape fades away.
  • Without a pencil or powder, your face lacks a frame.

That’s exactly what we compared the serums for. If your brows suddenly fall out, or only in patches, please have the cause checked by a doctor first.

Three things convinced us:

  1. One serum for your brows – and your lashes too.Lazru is made for both. With the fine brush, you apply it once or twice a day to your brows and the lash line – one product instead of two.
  2. No prostaglandins, no hormones.Five of the best-known brow serums in our comparison rely on prostaglandin analogues. The European Commission has proposed banning these substances in cosmetics. Lazru avoids them altogether; its full ingredient list is openly available on lazru.com.
  3. Studied actives, gentle on the skin. The ingredient suppliers have published scalp-hair studies on Procapil™ and AnaGain™. Dermatest® rates Lazru’s skin tolerance as “excellent”.Dermatest seal: Original, excellent, 06/2022

“The results are genuinely impressive! Lazru is the only lash and brow serum I recommend to my clients.”

Good to know

Browcocaine or Lazru – which is better?

Browcocaine contains a prostaglandin analogue and, according to the brand, should be used for no more than twelve weeks at a time and no more than once a year. Lazru does without prostaglandins and is made for brows and lashes. If you want the gentle option, Lazru is the one.

Do over-plucked eyebrows grow back?

Often, yes – but brows grow slowly. Put the tweezers away for a few months and care for the roots regularly. If areas stay bare for a very long time, the hair follicle may be damaged; then microblading or brow powder fills the gap better than any serum.

What can I realistically expect?

No serum works the same for everyone. The brand recommends at least two months; it mentions first changes after a few weeks and clearer ones after two to four months. If your brows suddenly fall out, please have the cause checked by a doctor.

Is Lazru gentle?

It contains no prostaglandins and no hormones; Dermatest® rates its skin tolerance as “excellent”. Keep it out of your eyes, patch-test first if your skin is sensitive, and check with your doctor before use if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.

Our verdict

“If you want your brows to look fuller again, Lazru is our first choice – no prostaglandins, no hormones. Put down the tweezers, apply it every day and stick with it for at least two months, as the brand recommends.”
