Three things convinced us:

  1. No prostaglandins, no hormones.Five of the seven other serums in our comparison contain prostaglandin analogues – actives taken from glaucoma treatment. In 2026, the German food and cosmetics authority CVUA Karlsruhe found more than half of 71 specifically selected lash and brow serums to be unsafe. RevitaLash or Lazru – which is better?

RevitaLash works with a prostaglandin analogue. Serums like this are considered effective, but the brand itself advises against use in pregnancy and while breastfeeding and lists darker skin along the lash line as a possible effect. Lazru relies on peptides and plant extracts instead of prostaglandins, and cares for your brows too. If you want the gentle option, Lazru is the one.

What are prostaglandin analogues – and why do they matter?

They’re actives that originally come from eye drops for glaucoma; as a side effect, they make lashes grow. In 2026 the EU expert panel SCCS classified three of these substances in lash serums as not safe, and the European Commission has proposed banning them in cosmetics. The German consumer testing organisation Stiftung Warentest advises pregnant women and those trying to conceive against them. On the packaging, look out for names like isopropyl cloprostenate, ethyl tafluprostamide or norbimatoprost.

What can I realistically expect?

No serum works the same for everyone. The brand recommends at least two months; it mentions first changes after a few weeks and clearer ones after two to four months. If your lashes suddenly fall out, please have the cause checked by a doctor.

Is Lazru gentle?

It contains no prostaglandins and no hormones; Dermatest® rates its skin tolerance as “excellent”. Keep it out of your eyes, patch-test first if your eyes are sensitive, and check with your doctor before use if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.
