What is Lavuj?

Lavuj is a single product: a lightweight retinol face serum for your evening routine. Retinol is a form of vitamin A and is considered the best-studied cosmetic ingredient for fine lines. It boosts skin renewal – which is exactly why it can irritate at first if you try to do too much.

That’s why Lavuj doesn’t chase the highest possible number on the bottle, but a formula that cares for the skin at the same time: niacinamide, peptides and hyaluronic acid are in the same formula. So at night you need one product instead of three.

What’s inside

Ingredient list as per lavuj.com, as of October 2026. Lavuj cites no study of its own on the finished serum.
IngredientWhat for
RetinolThe classic for fine lines and wrinkles; boosts skin renewal
NiacinamideStrengthens the skin barrier and evens out skin tone
Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7Two peptides widely used in anti-ageing skincare

Coenzyme Q10Antioxidant

Is more retinol better?

No – and that’s the most important takeaway for anyone comparing retinol serums. In a study with 37 people, wrinkles, uneven texture and pigment spots decreased over twelve weeks with both 0.3% and 0.5% retinol; irritation was more frequent at 0.5%. The study wasn’t carried out with Lavuj and had no placebo group, but it shows the principle.

Since November 2025, new facial cosmetics in the EU may contain no more than 0.3% retinol (as retinol equivalent). Lavuj doesn’t give a percentage and speaks of a “proven concentration”. If an exact figure matters to you, that’s worth knowing; for everyday results, what counts more in our view is using the serum regularly and without irritation.

How to get started with Lavuj

Our experience in the salon

Retinol comes up a lot with our clients – usually with the question of which product to choose and how to start without the skin rebelling. Our team has used and tested Lavuj in the salon ourselves. What we like: the combination with skin-caring actives and the clear plan for getting started.

“It was pleasant to apply, and the serum absorbed quickly without leaving a greasy feel.”

Team ARBUTI · Munich

What’s proven – and what isn’t

  • Proven: the full ingredient list is public; it includes retinol, niacinamide, two peptides and hyaluronic acid.
  • Proven: Dermatest® rates skin tolerance as “very good” (10/2023). That’s a tolerance test, not proof of effectiveness.
  • Well studied, but not with Lavuj: retinol’s effect on fine lines.
  • Not published: the exact retinol concentration and a study with the finished serum. The brand gives no usage period for its before-and-after photos.

Who Lavuj suits – and who it doesn’t

  • A good fit if you’re new to retinol and want a clear plan.
  • A good fit if you want to simplify your evening routine – one serum with retinol, niacinamide, peptides and hyaluronic acid.
  • A good fit for women and men with fine lines, first wrinkles or dull skin.
  • Less suitable if you want to work with precise retinol strengths – serums with a stated percentage are the better choice then.
  • Don’t use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If your skin is very sensitive or prone to rosacea, patch-test it first.

Lavuj: frequently asked questions

Does Lavuj really work?

Retinol is the best-studied cosmetic ingredient for fine lines, and Lavuj adds niacinamide, peptides and hyaluronic acid. The manufacturer cites no study with the finished serum. Our team has used Lavuj in the salon, and we recommend it. Results vary from person to person.

How much retinol does Lavuj contain?

Lavuj doesn’t give a percentage and speaks of a “proven concentration”. For facial skincare newly placed on the market since November 2025, the EU sets an upper limit of 0.3%. A 0.3% figure that previously appeared on this page wasn’t confirmed by the manufacturer – we’ve removed it.

When will I see results?

Retinol takes patience. Lavuj says at least four weeks, usually six to eight – if you start slowly, it often takes a little longer. Results vary from person to person.

Can I use Lavuj every night?

Yes, but not from day one. Start with two to three evenings a week and increase if your skin stays calm. That keeps redness and dryness in check.

Can I use Lavuj during pregnancy?

No. The manufacturer advises against use during pregnancy and breastfeeding – as is standard with retinol.

Where can I buy Lavuj?

We link to the official shop [lavuj.com](https://lavuj.com/en/ There you’ll find the original product, sets, prices and delivery terms. If you see Lavuj offered elsewhere, please check that it’s the genuine product.
